The Enterprise crew is infected with a contaminant that impairs their judgment, driving them to do things they would never do.

Review:
"The Naked Now" is an average episode for the first season of TNG. The storyline follows a similar story seen in TOS "The Naked Time". The crew become infected with an intoxicating element and you get to see the characters, well out of character.
